MultiMedioids - How can it help you?
Developed by TERRA SOFT at Glasgow University's Department of Hispanic
Studies, MultiMedioids helps you to create multimedia presentations and
training packages rapidly. With MultiMedioids running on top of Hypercard
you construct sequences of multimedia presentations (called "medioids")
using the "click, point and drag" philosophy. It requires no knowledge of
programming and reduces development time for quality multimedia
considerably.
MultiMedioids offers you a number of flexible features to enliven your
Hypercard environment:
**Colour text**
MultiMedioids enables you to create colour text windows and position them
anywhere around the screen.
**Sound files**
Play sound files and snd resources directly from your medioids. Record
your own sound files with MultiMedioids.
**Pictures**
The program lets you display full colour PICT files or resources with ease.
Position pictures easily on the screen by clicking and dragging them.
**QuickTime Movies**
Play QuickTime movies by selecting parameters from a simple pull-down menu.
Multimedioids handles everything else.
**Keyboard and Microphone Responses**
You can make multimedia truly interactive by including user responses from
the keyboard and microphone within your medioids. These responses can be
placed into a folder with the user's name and checked at a later stage
using the ResMonitor program supplied with the package.
**Replay Facility**
Your user can replay any sequence of items in your medioid simply by
clicking a button.
**Hypertalk Scripts**
If you already build your own Hypercard stacks, MultiMedioids will take the
drudgery out of your scripting whenever you want to play a multimedia
sequence. You simply call the medioid from the stack concerned. You
can also incorporate Hypertalk handlers into your medioids should you want to
create more elaborate ones.
**Scan Facility**
Avoid losing track of your multimedia resources with the MultiMedioids scan
facility. Whenever you move your medioids, pictures, sound files etc. to a
different folder or machine, MultiMedioids can automatically update their
locations.
